About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze as-is operating models, especially for manufacturing clients
- Create manufacturing organization visions aligned with business strategy and targets
- Design implementation frameworks to measure and manage operating models
- Lead deployment of Manufacturing Excellence work processes across multiple sites
- Drive operational excellence to improve client performance and supply chain stability
- Facilitate change management, leadership coaching, and frontline capability development
- Design and implement EY Smart Factory solutions
- Implement measures including OEE, lot-size adjustments, SMED, predictive maintenance, TPM, 5S, and 7QC Tools
- Engage with shop-floor technicians, operators, and casual workers to understand problems and implement systems
- Lead digital transformation initiatives using Advanced Analytics, Industrial IoT, Power BI, MES, and Smart Factory solutions
- Assist in digital shop-floor transformation and implement Factory of the Future technologies
- Analyze structured and unstructured manufacturing data and develop meaningful insights
- Establish transformation governance, site maturity assessments, benefit tracking, and performance review routines
- Participate in building an industry-focused practice across EY GDS service lines
- Identify opportunities and develop solutions to unstructured problems
- Present recommendations and solutions to CXOs
- Manage decision-making, process optimization, resources, and teams as needed
- Allocate personnel, supervise team members, assign tasks, provide tools and support, and evaluate performance
- Spend most of the time embedded with clients’ teams to provide business perspectives on manufacturing innovation and competitiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- MBA from VLM programs (IIM C, IIM M formerly NTIE, etc.) or a Tier-I institution, preferably specializing in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 6–10 years of experience in Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Performance Improvement, Reliability, Maintenance, Supply Chain Operations, or Manufacturing Transformation
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on implementation consulting experience deploying Manufacturing Excellence systems, Continuous Improvement programs, Reliability Excellence initiatives, and performance management frameworks
- Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, Industry 4.0, and Digital Transformation methodologies
- Prior experience with a leading management consulting, operations consulting, manufacturing transformation consulting, or operations excellence advisory organization
- Demonstrated end-to-end client delivery experience, including assessment, solution design, implementation, stakeholder management, and benefits realization
- Strong consulting skills, problem solving, analytical thinking, research, logical structuring, storyboarding, and executive-level presentations
- Strong leadership, project management, change management, stakeholder engagement, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing and enterprise systems including MES, ERP (SAP preferred), QMS, CMMS/EAM, APS, SCADA, Historian, and Industrial IoT platforms
- Willingness to travel internationally on short- and medium-term assignments as required
- Experience with manufacturing analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Minitab, Advanced Excel, or similar platforms
- Experience in data-driven performance improvement, manufacturing analytics, and operational decision support
- Exposure to supply chain planning, inventory optimization, production planning, and manufacturing network optimization initiatives
- Understanding of change management frameworks, capability building approaches, and organizational transformation methodologies
- Experience working across global and multi-site transformation programs
