About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support end-to-end operations workstreams across strategic transformations and M&A transactions
  • Support due diligence, value creation, integration, separation, and restructuring projects in the energy sector
  • Assess operational performance and identify risks and improvement opportunities across energy businesses and assets
  • Analyze production performance, operating costs, CAPEX, and asset utilization
  • Support development and review of business cases, financial models, and value creation initiatives
  • Coordinate transaction and transformation workstreams
  • Manage relationships with client stakeholders, including senior management and C-level executives
  • Develop client deliverables including presentations, assessments, and business cases
  • Translate business needs into operational improvement, transformation, and value creation initiatives
  • Leverage AI tools and innovative approaches to improve analysis and delivery efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience in energy-sector transactions, operational transformation, or value creation initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in financial modelling, advanced Excel, business case development, and financial analysis
  • Experience within the energy sector, including oil & gas, power & utilities, energy infrastructure, or energy transition businesses
  • Understanding of energy-sector operational value drivers, including production performance, CAPEX/OPEX efficiency, asset utilization, ESG considerations, and operational KPIs
  • Knowledge of UK and European energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and energy transition developments
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, and digital tools
  • 6+ years of professional experience in transaction advisory, operational consulting, operational due diligence, value creation, restructuring, or related areas
  • Ability to travel and work across the EU, up to 20% annually
  • Excellent written and verbal command of English
  • Additional European language preferred: French, Spanish, Italian, or German
  • Ability to work occasionally outside normal business hours with international teams
  • Preferred experience in M&A transactions, including due diligence, integrations, separations, or transformations
  • University degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience building strong working relationships with senior clients and advising key decision makers
  • Experience working in an international environment
