About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Secure and analyze client tax data for preparation and/or review of tax compliance products
  • Analyze client tax data to determine Canadian and US filing positions and provide tax planning advice
  • Review US and Canadian personal income tax returns
  • Advise clients on tax implications of working in another tax jurisdiction
  • Interface with clients and colleagues worldwide by phone and in person
  • Develop existing and new client relationships and represent EY at external networking events
  • Conduct tax technical research supporting compliance and advisory deliverables
  • Prepare and/or deliver tax technical material for the national education program
  • Leverage technology to maximize productivity
  • Manage client account financials, including budgets, resource requirements, invoicing, and revenue recognition
  • Lead and manage mobility engagements and business development efforts relating to Mobility and other People Advisory Services
  • Develop and innovate new service offerings
  • Monitor engagement and team performance, provide guidance and feedback, and facilitate teamwork
  • Provide guidance to junior colleagues on tax technical and performance management skills
  • Identify opportunities for EY’s Mobility People Advisory Service and other special services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 8 years of US and/or Canadian global mobility tax work
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, either obtained or currently in progress
  • Knowledge of current automated tax processing systems and tax laws in an area of technical specialization
  • Ability to interpret actuarial concepts and results in the business context
  • Commitment to learning in a tax technical environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Visio
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to share knowledge and motivate the team
  • Initiative to stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements
  • Sound professional judgement and high level of professionalism
  • Ability to innovate and adapt to the market
  • Strong team-player orientation and ability to manage workload and development
