About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and lead teams on financial diligence project work
  • Analyze financial data and identify key trends behind business performance
  • Discuss business performance and forecast assumptions with senior team management
  • Help structure reports presenting findings and recommendations on key financial and business issues in transactions
  • Lead financial due diligence engagements across multiple sectors
  • Understand business profit drivers and trends, challenge future-performance assumptions, and assist with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters
  • Conduct and review accounting-record analysis and management interviews
  • Identify negotiation factors for purchase price and deal structuring
  • Identify post-acquisition actions to achieve anticipated earnings and cash-flow improvements
  • Research industry trends, technologies, seasonality and cyclicality affecting cash-flow requirements
  • Present EY service-line solutions to clients and cultivate long-term client relationships
  • Utilize EY data analytics and digital platforms to provide client insights
  • Produce due diligence work products compliant with EY standards
  • Challenge engagement scope and procedures and recommend modifications
  • Manage billing, scheduling, performance evaluations, mentoring, client expectations and additional client needs
  • Maintain communication with partners and clients and communicate scope changes
  • Mentor staff, provide feedback and reviews, and identify training needs
  • Review work according to firm policies and manage risks
  • Evaluate potential deal breakers and contract negotiation points
  • Draft proposed scope and budget for financial due diligence engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience at a professional services firm, solely focused on financial due diligence (Big 4 or mid-tier)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Project management skills
  • People management skills
  • Exposure to large, complex transactions involving cross-border activities
  • Ability to utilize strong local insights in due diligence
  • Experience running multiple projects simultaneously
  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Fluency in English
  • Significant accounting and previous financial due diligence experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to develop long-lasting internal and external relationships
  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry
