About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead design for a workstream within a multidisciplinary team of researchers, technologists, product managers and engagement team members
  • Own product design end to end, from framing the problem with clients to writing specifications engineers can build from
  • Serve as the day-to-day design contact for clients
  • Mentor junior designers
  • Use AI for framing, generating options, prototyping and synthesis while remaining accountable for design decisions
  • Support business development activities including pursuits and proposals
  • Support practice-building activities such as mentoring colleagues and developing or delivering training
  • Conduct research, define user flows and create high-fidelity, production-ready Figma designs
  • Design AI-enabled and agentic experiences with explainability, transparency, human-in-the-loop control, error handling and handoffs
  • Leverage, contribute to and evolve client design systems and brand guidelines
  • Design data-heavy, role-based experiences for internal and external client teams
  • Deliver in Agile teams using Jira and collaborative software platforms
  • Write specifications, acceptance criteria and requirements of definition as needed
  • Run lean research and drive consensus on success measures with product owners and client stakeholders
  • Track feature performance and propose improvements
  • Present to engineers, product owners and senior business stakeholders
  • Explain the business value and costs of design to client stakeholders and internal engagement teams
  • Assess client design and technology maturity and tailor the approach
  • Facilitate workshops and coach client teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, UX Design, Interaction Design, Industrial or Product Design or related field, and 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience; alternatively, a master's degree and 2 years of work experience
  • Portfolio showing end-to-end product design, including problem framing, interaction design, visual craft and outcomes
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, components and design system contribution
  • Regular use of LLMs in the design process
  • Comfort with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools such as Claude, Cursor or Figma Make
  • Experience designing complex, data-heavy or workflow-driven products
  • Experience delivering in Agile teams using Jira or equivalent
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence presenting and defending design decisions to senior client stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and regionally up to 80% to serve client needs
  • Preferred: experience in financial services
  • Preferred: experience designing AI-powered or agentic product features reaching production
  • Preferred: familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards
  • Preferred: experience coaching client teams or building design capability
