About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design for a workstream within a multidisciplinary team of researchers, technologists, product managers and engagement team members
- Own workstream design end to end, from framing the problem with clients to writing specifications engineers can build from
- Serve as the day-to-day designer for the client
- Mentor junior designers
- Use AI for framing, generating options, prototyping and synthesis while remaining accountable for client-facing decisions
- Support business development activities, including pursuits and proposals
- Support practice-building activities, including mentoring colleagues and developing or delivering training
- Create apps, websites and software through human-centered design, research, brand strategy and understanding of business and user needs
- Design AI-enabled and agentic experiences, including trust, explainability, transparency, human-in-the-loop control, error correction and handoff
- Leverage, contribute to and evolve client design systems and brand guidelines
- Design data-heavy, role-based experiences for client internal and external teams
- Deliver in Agile teams using Jira and collaborative software platforms
- Write specifications and acceptance criteria
- Run lean research and drive consensus on success measures
- Monitor feature performance and propose improvements
- Present to engineers, product owners and senior business stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops and coach client teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, UX Design, Interaction Design, Industrial or Product Design or related field, plus 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience; alternatively, a master's degree and 2 years of work experience
- Portfolio showing end-to-end product design, including problem framing, interaction design, visual craft and outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, components and design system contribution
- Regular use of LLMs in the design process
- Comfort with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools such as Claude, Cursor or Figma Make
- Experience designing complex, data-heavy or workflow-driven products
- Experience delivering in Agile teams using Jira or equivalent
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present and defend design decisions to senior client stakeholders
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Requires domestic and regional travel up to 80%
- Experience in financial services, AI-powered or agentic product features, WCAG, or coaching client teams is advantageous
