About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multi-jurisdictional expatriate tax and social security planning for EY Global senior leadership and associated partnerships, focusing on the US, UK and India
- Liaise with EY Global Mobility, EY General Counsel’s Office, home/host country Talent teams and EY PAS tax teams to execute planning in compliance with local tax and social tax laws
- Support EY Global Mobility with interpretation of the Firm’s global tax equalisation policy for senior-level international assignees
- Manage UK payroll tax affairs for EY Global’s Independent Non-Executive Directors
- Perform ad hoc tax technical work, including expatriate partner localisation computations
- Support the Cross Border Travel Support team managing business travel tax matters across the EY network
- Analyse tax treaties and social tax agreements with EY PAS
- Leverage internally developed technology to standardise advice and tax costs
- Work closely with the GITG corporate tax team on Permanent Establishment issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Practical expatriate tax experience gained from several years of exposure to UK expatriate tax compliance or an expatriate tax technical role with a Big Four or smaller boutique expatriate tax firm
- US/UK dual-handler expatriate tax compliance knowledge and experience is advantageous but not necessary; training will be provided
- Experience working with international tax treaties
- Familiarity with UK expatriate payroll requirements
- Sound knowledge of international social security rules, totalisation agreements and EU social tax legislation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Confidence speaking with senior leadership expatriate personnel
- Ability to ensure partners comply with home/host expatriate tax rules and regulations
