About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end technical delivery, stability, and evolution of the Drill & Blast System across frontend, backend, optimization engines, and Azure cloud infrastructure
Own solution architecture across React SPA, Python/Flask/Django APIs, Python optimization engines, Azure infrastructure, and background processing
Review and approve architectural designs, technical approaches, and major refactors
Drive scalability, resilience, security, performance, modernization, and technical-debt reduction
Provide technical leadership for REST API platforms and integrations with Vulcan, Foundry, MAS, ArcGIS, and IHMP
Oversee React frontend development, visualization, usability, performance, and maintainability
Own technical direction for blast optimization engines and optimization-job orchestration
Own production readiness across Azure environments and oversee infrastructure as code, monitoring, diagnostics, and CI/CD
Manage delivery commitments, estimation, planning, risk management, release readiness, change management, production stability, and incident root-cause analysis
Manage and develop Senior Consultants and Consultants, including performance reviews, goal setting, mentoring, career development, succession planning, and team scaling
Partner with product owners, domain experts, and operational stakeholders to translate needs into technical roadmaps
Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and risks to leadership and represent engineering in program and governance forums

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proficiency in Python, Flask, REST APIs, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, React, TypeScript, SPA architectures, NumPy, SciPy, Shapely, Azure services, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bicep, PowerShell, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry
Experience with domain-driven design, integration patterns, background jobs, asynchronous processing, state management, data-fetching strategies, spatial data, and visualization concepts
Ability to reason about large-scale distributed systems
Strong decision-making in ambiguous and high-impact scenarios
Expertise in diagnosing cross-layer issues across UI, API, optimization, and infrastructure
Ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term platform health
