About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, and maintain IT Disaster Recovery strategies, plans, and runbooks for critical systems and application services
- Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify recovery priorities
- Coordinate and lead Disaster Recovery exercises, failover testing, and tabletop exercises
- Work with application, infrastructure, and business teams to validate recovery time objectives
- Maintain documentation for DR procedures, policies, and communication plans
- Monitor compliance with DR policies and industry best practices
- Collaborate with vendors and cloud service providers for offsite DR solutions
- Develop reporting materials and action plans, and provide senior leadership with status updates on risks and dependencies
- Manage stakeholders and international clients primarily based in the US and UK
- Collaborate with SMEs during DR drills to validate failover and integrity checks
- Ensure alignment of database high availability and Disaster Recovery strategies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in IT Disaster Recovery planning and testing
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience working at a GSIB Bank (Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citibank, etc.)
- Exposure to industry frameworks such as ISO 22301 and NIST SP 800-34
- Experience with DR tools and platforms such as Veeam, Zerto, SRM, Commvault, and Azure Site Recovery
- Familiarity with backup and replication technologies
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL
- Understanding of virtualization including VMware and Hyper-V
- Understanding of cloud DR strategies including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Strong documentation and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Relevant certifications such as CBCP, CDRE, or Microsoft/AWS/Azure certifications preferred
- Exposure to enterprise monitoring and alerting tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, or SolarWinds preferred
