About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy
  • Design secure IT environments covering network security, cloud architecture, endpoint security, identity and access management, and data protection
  • Architect and implement security controls for on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Conduct risk assessments of technologies, systems, and software applications
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity governance policies, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on cybersecurity strategy, risk appetite, and incident response
  • Integrate SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and other security tools into enterprise architecture
  • Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, CCPA, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and other applicable frameworks
  • Monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors and recommend mitigations
  • Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration testing with internal teams and third-party consultants
  • Establish vulnerability management processes and ensure timely remediation
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and processes
  • Lead incident response, including detection, analysis, forensics, and post-mortem evaluations
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and communications teams on incident management and reporting
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and development teams to design secure solutions
  • Provide cybersecurity leadership and training across departments
  • Mentor cybersecurity engineers and analysts
  • Lead assessment and management of third-party risks
  • Conduct due diligence for third-party software and services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role or as a cybersecurity architect
  • Extensive experience in enterprise security architecture design covering network, cloud, data, and endpoint security
  • Deep understanding of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, and encryption solutions
  • Proficiency in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud security
  • Experience with Rapid7, Qualys, Nessus, penetration testing methodologies, and risk management platforms
  • Familiarity with CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and transportation/logistics compliance requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of threat intelligence and incident response frameworks
  • Hands-on experience in threat hunting and managing real-time security incidents
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, secure development practices, and DevSecOps integration
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty preferred
  • Experience with SOAR, Ansible, or Terraform preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, and HTTP/HTTPS preferred
  • Experience in the logistics and transportation industry preferred
