About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement core data science approaches for project workstreams
- Select optimal algorithms and validation strategies
- Apply domain expertise and advanced machine learning to complex business challenges
- Own end-to-end delivery of scalable, robust, mathematically precise model components
- Develop or adapt algorithms for bespoke client requirements and technical constraints
- Build software architecture for production-grade models and agentic workflows
- Provide technical guidance and peer reviews to Level 1 Data Scientists
- Manage delivery timelines and identify or mitigate technical risks and data limitations
- Work with clients across government, finance, retail, energy, life sciences, and defence through Faculty’s AI consulting work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Expertise in statistical modeling and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Ability to extract valid insights from messy or incomplete datasets
- Ability to translate ambiguous client needs into actionable data science requirements and mathematical frameworks
- Clear communication of technical discussions, project feasibility, and delivery timelines
- Highly proficient in advanced Python and relevant frameworks
- Ability to build production-grade AI architectures
- Commitment to transparent, ethical, and peer-reviewed AI development
- Required to answer whether UK visa sponsorship is needed now or in the future
