About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-impact AI projects and shape the technical direction of bespoke solutions
- Lead project teams delivering bespoke algorithms and high-stakes AI solutions to clients across life sciences and related sectors
- Define data science approaches and design robust software architectures for new engagements
- Mentor data scientists and support the professional growth of technical team members
- Partner with commercial teams to build client relationships and shape technically feasible project scopes
- Contribute to Faculty’s thought leadership and reputation through courses, public speaking, or open-source projects
- Ensure best practices throughout the project lifecycle for high-quality, impactful delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior experience in a professional data science position or a quantitative academic field
- Fluent Python programming skills
- Experience with NumPy and Pandas
- Experience with a deep-learning framework such as PyTorch
- Deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, and validation
- Proficiency across the standard data science toolkit
- Ability to develop innovative algorithms
- Experience in client-facing work
- Commercial awareness and ability to translate business problems into a rigorous mathematical framework
- Experience with project planning, technical feasibility assessment, delivery timeline estimation, and team leadership
- Leadership mindset focused on growing technical capabilities and nurturing a collaborative culture
