About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the Gold dimensional model and star schemas across client, matter, timekeeper, and practice-group dimensions
  • Produce curated, AI-ready data products
  • Lead delivery of executive dashboards and self-service analytics in Microsoft Power BI
  • Author approved firm metric definitions using Databricks Unity Catalog Metric Views to eliminate metric drift
  • Implement metric definitions ratified through the firm’s data-governance cadence
  • Set standards for modeling, Power BI, and Databricks Genie curation and grounding
  • Mentor mid-level and junior Analytics Engineers
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure Gold data products are consumable by firm AI offerings
  • Resolve cross-system definitional questions in partnership with the governance cadence
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Work with the Technology and Innovation team on the firm’s enterprise data lake and semantic layer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of analytics/data engineering experience
  • Expert-level SQL and dimensional modeling skills
  • Deep, hands-on Microsoft Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, and enterprise dashboard delivery
  • Experience defining and governing business metrics/KPIs across multiple source systems
  • Ability to mentor and set technical standards for less experienced analytics engineers
  • Experience partnering with data engineers to translate Silver-layer structures, key-resolution logic, and source data constraints into Gold-layer dimensional models
  • Databricks AI/BI and Genie experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-orientated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and take initiative while asking for direction or clarification and consulting others as appropriate
  • Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships while maintaining a client service orientation
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information
