About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Enterprise Application Team
  • Supervise direct reports, including setting goals, performance standards, and development plans
  • Oversee the design, deployment, version lifecycle, and administration of single-tier and multi-tier applications and SaaS tenant configurations
  • Define and maintain SLAs/OLAs for enterprise applications and ensure operational performance against service targets
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI, and workflow optimization
  • Drive continuous improvement through modernization, rationalization, and technical debt reduction
  • Represent Enterprise Applications in cross-functional management discussions and technology planning sessions
  • Ensure applications comply with legal industry regulations, data privacy standards, and client security requirements
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Work within Faegre Drinker’s Technology & Innovation department as part of the team responsible for strategic management, delivery, and optimization of the firm’s core business systems portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience delivering, supporting, and maintaining enterprise applications in a networked Windows-based environment
  • Deep knowledge of single-tier and multi-tier application architecture, SaaS tenant administration, and backend database configurations
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a people management or supervisory role, with a demonstrated track record of coaching, developing, and performance managing technical staff
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing third-party vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including contract oversight, renewal cycles, and cost optimization of enterprise platforms
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a large law firm, professional services organization, or similarly regulated environment, with a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements, ethical walls, and matter-centric data structures
  • Strong familiarity with both on-premises and cloud-based enterprise applications, including traditional and emerging technologies
  • Strong familiarity working with Microsoft SQL Server configuration, administration, and support
  • Experience leading or supporting ITIL-based service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management in an enterprise environment
  • Experience managing enterprise application lifecycles, including modernization, upgrade planning, and decommissioning of legacy systems
  • Proven experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver enterprise technology solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical items to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment via phone, web, or videoconference
  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work accurately, and exercise sound judgment with confidential information
