About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related services
- Own complex technical projects from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Build reliable distributed systems and services supporting millions of customers across multiple markets
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and engineering teams to deliver identity and KYC solutions
- Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards, code reviews, and best practices within the Identity squad
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges
- Use AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and software delivery
- Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development
- Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and scalable backend services
- Experience working with Go, or strong experience in another backend language with a willingness to transition to Go
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, testing, CI/CD, and production operations
- Experience working on complex systems where reliability, security, and scalability are critical
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
- Preferred: Experience working in Identity, KYC, authentication, fraud prevention, onboarding, or related domains
- Preferred: Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other financial services environments
- Preferred: Strong experience with Go and Go-based backend systems
- Preferred: Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
- Preferred: Experience working with AWS or other major cloud platforms
- Preferred: Experience using AI coding assistants, LLM-based developer tools, or AI-assisted development workflows
- Preferred: Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction within a team
