About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and coordinate monthly Parent Cafés through the end of the grant year
  • Collaborate with the Parent Café Coalition and Family Futures staff to determine café dates, locations, and logistics
  • Support facilitation, materials preparation, and participant engagement
  • Support strategic planning for ongoing Parent Cafés, including themes, protective factors, one-on-one questions, commitment cards, and engagement activities
  • Conduct outreach to community organizations to secure buy-in and partnerships
  • Hold at least one coalition meeting each quarter
  • Develop timelines, scopes of work, expectations, assignments, systems, and processes
  • Support communication and coordination among schools, community partners, and coalition members
  • Gather and share data demonstrating program growth, participation, and demographic reach
  • Collaborate with staff on data alignment for reporting and program evaluation
  • Attend necessary meetings through the Ready by Five Early Childhood Millage
  • Complete quarterly grant reporting
  • Create and ensure completion of the grant workplan
  • Serve as grant lead and oversee the Parent Café Coalition

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred/ideal, with a minimum of 2 years working with families, or a combination of formal and informal education and experience sufficient to demonstrate proficiency
  • Experience in community engagement, family support programs, education, or nonprofit work
  • Familiarity with Parent Café models, trauma-informed practices, or family-centered approaches preferred
  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort working with families and community organizations
  • Ability to plan events, manage timelines, and coordinate multiple partners
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Adaptable and a self-starter
  • Cultural competence and knowledge working with diverse populations
  • Flexible schedule to meet family needs
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to learn early childhood landscape and terminology
  • Personal vehicle may be required
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing approximately 25 lbs.
  • Personal cell phone and access to Internet service may be required
  • Attendance at community events and meetings outside regular work hours may be required
