About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create, design, and enhance cash flow models, pricing methodologies, and valuation techniques for fixed-income portfolios and new business initiatives
  • Discuss markets and fixed-income concepts and trends with internal and external market participants, including Trade Desk, Risk Groups, and third-party participants
  • Execute daily fair-value pricing for loans, securities, debt, and derivative portfolios
  • Research market activity and risk factors affecting portfolio pricing
  • Develop and implement pricing methodologies and strategies using fixed-income analytics
  • Lead periodic market analysis involving the firm's portfolio
  • Manage internal team projects and support external customers
  • Provide market and analytical guidance and training to less experienced staff
  • Analyze large datasets using advanced financial engineering tools and techniques
  • Conduct financial analysis or forecasting, including scenario or sensitivity analysis, stress testing, or attribution analysis
  • Execute models and interpret model results, translating analyses into understandable conclusions
  • Work with model builders to vet new models, suggest changes, and analyze model performance data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of fixed income market experience from a trading, portfolio management, securities valuation, or research background
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, or STEM related area
  • Curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence
  • Strong knowledge of MBS, CMOs, REMICS, derivative and rate markets
  • Deep understanding of fixed income analytics (DCFs, OAS, Duration/Convexity, spreads/discount margins, etc.), and valuations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills required
  • Some weekend and holiday work may be required to meet production deadlines
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, Intex or other valuation tools a plus
  • Experience with SQL, Visual Basic, R or Python a plus
  • MBA or Masters in Economics, Finance, or STEM related area desired
  • CFA, FRM, or CTP designation desirable
