Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct theoretical and empirical research with public and proprietary data in mortgage finance, including residential property valuation, home price index estimation, and home price forecasting
  • Apply mathematical, statistical, and econometric techniques to support business strategies and initiatives
  • Complete modeling projects aligned with company policies and industry-wide modeling practices
  • Conduct or assess ad-hoc quantitative analyses, modeling, or programming using SQL, R, or Python
  • Use advanced data mining and statistical techniques to develop analytic insights, hypotheses, and recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods to improve business performance
  • Implement validation or testing strategies and assess model methodology, output, and process quality and risk
  • Interpret model results, monitor performance, and assess risks
  • Communicate complex technical subject matter through verbal communication, white papers, review reports, and work papers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of data analysis and modeling experience
  • Curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence
  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent in statistics, physics, or math (desired)
  • Experience with large data analysis and modeling (desired)
  • Experience preparing technical documents on data analysis and results (desired)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, GitHub, and AWS (desired)
