About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect conversational AI systems that transform how clients and advisors interact with Farther’s wealth management platform
- Own conversational AI features end-to-end, from requirements through production deployment
- Architect chatbot systems using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows
- Build production systems with testing, observability, reliability, and redundancy
- Develop guardrails and authorization boundaries for AI agents handling sensitive financial data
- Troubleshoot production issues, complex prompt engineering challenges, and unfamiliar model behaviors
- Collaborate directly with product, data engineering, and business stakeholders
- Make architectural decisions and own outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years software engineering experience with backend focus
- Experience building conversational AI or chatbot applications in production
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and agent frameworks
- Professional delivery experience at Fortune 500 or equivalent enterprise environment
- Self-directed and autonomous, with an ownership mindset
- Product-focused mindset
- Financial services or trading systems background (bonus)
- MLOps and production ML deployment experience (bonus)
- LLM evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop systems (bonus)
- Multi-step agent workflows and streaming interfaces (bonus)
