About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform material handling functions to load and unload trailers and move materials within the plant
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities for accuracy, completeness, and shipment condition
  • Receive incoming inventory into the business system and place items into inventory according to company processes
  • Inspect loading operations for compliance with shipping specifications and seal loaded truck doors as needed
  • Inspect equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel
  • Direct shipment movement from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas
  • Maintain and restock the warehouse or parts cage while correcting errors
  • Read blueprints and machine drawings to determine material requirements
  • Use lifting equipment, hand tools, material handling machines, scanning devices, and ERP/MRP software
  • Perform cycle counts and complete 5S tasks
  • Perform other miscellaneous tasks as directed by supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active forklift certification required and maintained
  • Ability to use various types of lifting equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools and material handling machines
  • Ability to work with inventory control using ERP/MRP software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings
  • Ability to use scanning devices and technology to process inventory movements
  • Ability to perform cycle counts
  • Ability to complete weekly, daily, and monthly 5S tasks
