About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the vision and strategy for Advanced Process Control (APC) systems at Nickel Brazil
- Advise on the selection and use of specialized APC technologies, dynamic process simulation, regulatory control, and other control systems
- Support the commissioning, maintenance, and use of these technologies at the sites
- Apply knowledge of vendor systems to manage installation teams
- Ensure effective project delivery
- Increase the value derived from APC technologies by sharing best practices across sites
- Develop site team capabilities for the effective use of these technologies
- Advise on identifying APC-driven business opportunities at the sites
- Evaluate and test new functionality in simulated and real-world environments, including documentation
- Clearly demonstrate SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) values and principles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline
- Postgraduate degree (Master's, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline is desirable
- Proven track record of leading and translating ideas into practical initiatives
- Proven experience implementing and successfully delivering Advanced Process Control systems
- Knowledge of control system applications and data analysis
- Knowledge of or experience with the Honeywell Profit System is desirable
- Exemplary safety practices and a deep understanding of their importance
- Ability to implement solutions that drive efficiency
- Ability to resolve technical and operational issues with stakeholders
- Ability to develop solutions that optimize productivity and quality targets
- Ability to execute project activities, escalate risks, and propose mitigating actions
- Knowledge of change management concepts and the ability to support managers through change processes
- Ability to apply best practices and expertise in designing strategic solutions
- Ability to influence and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to facilitate agreement and cooperation
- Ability to work with diverse teams and respect local social, political, and cultural contexts
- Ability to interact effectively both in person and virtually
