About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute functional tests for APIs and backend services, including manual, exploratory, and regression testing
Record test cases, executions, and evidence
Support the engineering team in validating product configurations and integrations
Identify and report defects with clear documentation, logs, and reproduction steps
Track retesting through to defect resolution
Validate story acceptance criteria before delivery
Participate in Sprint Planning, Refinement, Review, and Retrospective ceremonies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and JSON with Postman, including collections, environments, variables, and authentication
Ability to validate status codes, payloads, and business rules
Knowledge of functional, exploratory, and regression testing types and techniques
Experience writing test scenarios and test cases
Basic SQL for querying and verifying data
Experience with Jira and Zephyr, or a similar tool, for recording and executing test cases
Ability to read API documentation, including Swagger/OpenAPI, and logs to support defect investigation (preferred)
Experience in the financial services or fintech sector (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Clear communication with developers and product teams
Organization and autonomy in day-to-day testing activities
Ability to work collaboratively in agile teams
