About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain scalable, resilient RESTful APIs in Ruby on Rails.
- Participate in the entire development lifecycle: architecture, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Evolve the monolithic core and work with microservices and partner integrations, such as ERPs, payment gateways, and external platforms.
- Ensure technical quality through code reviews, Clean Code, SOLID principles, and team standards.
- Monitor and optimize performance using APM, resource tuning, and query analysis and improvement.
- Work in cross-functional squads using an agile model (Scrum/Kanban), collaborating with engineering and product teams.
- Navigate contexts involving TypeScript and mobile teams and workflows while maintaining a systems-level perspective.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven mid-level experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong command of REST APIs (design, documentation, and consumption).
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling.
- Experience with Git/GitHub.
- Strong familiarity with automated testing, such as RSpec, and an understanding of unit, integration, and black-box testing.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS).
- Ownership mindset: autonomy, proactivity, and a focus on delivering value with technical responsibility.
- Nice to have: microservices architecture and messaging (AWS SNS/SQS); Docker and Kubernetes; NoSQL databases and Redis, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB; CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
- Spanish is a plus, but not required.
