About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in platform architecture decisions and document the rationale behind them
Build end-to-end features with Java on the backend and React on the frontend
Implement synchronous and asynchronous integration layers
Work with a microservices ecosystem integrated with legacy systems and monoliths
Design and evolve data persistence across relational and non-relational databases
Work with messaging and asynchronous processing
Write automated tests and actively participate in code reviews
Contribute to architecture discussions with technical reasoning
Investigate and resolve issues in production environments
Use AI thoughtfully in development and rigorously review its output
Share context and support junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software development experience, with production-ready deliveries
Java on the backend and React on the frontend, with autonomy across both areas
Docker and containerization; familiarity with deployment on Azure
Relational database modeling, querying, and optimization
Asynchronous processing with RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS, or Kafka
Knowledge of non-relational databases and a clear understanding of when to use them
Daily use of Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent AI-assisted development tools
Consumption and integration of third-party APIs
Self-sufficient in unblocking yourself and clear about when to ask for help
Commitment to quality without compromising delivery speed
Collaboration within a small squad
Curiosity about applied AI in products
Nice to have: experience with healthcare projects, sensitive data, and Brazil’s LGPD; MVP-stage products; legacy products and monoliths; Azure and AWS
