About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain robust, modular, high-performance backend systems using Java, preferably Spring Boot
- Participate in defining architectures for legacy monoliths, microservices, and serverless applications
- Build and evolve RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance
- Work with relational and non-relational databases
- Ensure automated test coverage and apply TDD practices
- Conduct code reviews and participate in pair programming
- Apply DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, containers, pipelines, and observability
- Contribute to documentation, design patterns, security, and software development best practices
- Develop and maintain applications
- Participate in technical analysis, estimation, and solution definition with the team, Tech Lead, and Architect
- Ensure solution quality and performance through coding best practices, automated testing, and code reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across QA, Product, DevOps, Architecture, and Information Systems
- Contribute to the evolution of the team’s architecture and technical standards
- Actively monitor applications and collaborate on incident identification and resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience with Java (version 8 or later)
- Strong command of Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security
- Experience with REST APIs, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and layered architecture
- Solid knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB)
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ)
- Experience with Docker, containers, and continuous integration
- Git and modern version control and collaboration practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, integration, and performance testing)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
- Previous experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Strong sense of ownership, proactivity, and collaboration
- English or Spanish proficiency is a plus
