About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain robust, modular, high-performance backend systems using Java, preferably Spring Boot
- Participate in defining architectures for legacy monoliths, microservices, and serverless applications
- Build and evolve RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance
- Work with relational and non-relational databases
- Ensure automated test coverage and apply TDD practices
- Conduct code reviews and pair programming
- Contribute to the team’s technical growth and engineering culture
- Apply DevOps practices throughout the software lifecycle, including CI/CD, containers, pipelines, and observability
- Develop and maintain applications
- Participate in technical analysis, estimation, and solution design with the team, Tech Lead, and Architect
- Ensure quality and performance through coding best practices, automated testing, and code reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across QA, Product, DevOps, Architecture, and Information Systems
- Contribute to the evolution of the team’s architecture and technical standards
- Actively monitor applications and collaborate on incident identification and resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience with Java (versions 8+)
- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security
- Experience with REST APIs, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and layered architecture
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Experience with asynchronous messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
- Experience with Docker, containers, and continuous integration
- Knowledge of Git and modern version control and collaboration practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines: GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Experience with automated testing: JUnit, Mockito, integration, and performance testing
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS: EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
- Previous experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum or Kanban, and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong sense of ownership, proactive mindset, and collaborative approach
- English or Spanish is a plus
