About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Project Lead in overseeing a small team within the Finishing Department
  • Organize, coordinate, and maintain production activities for specific projects
  • Assist the Project Lead with rolling out new parts and training new team members
  • Coach and supervise team members to ensure project success
  • Facilitate daily operational processes and team coordination
  • Support material inventory control and waste reduction
  • Monitor material usage and report scrap/waste according to procedures
  • Ensure adherence to Finishing Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including checklists and ply books
  • Reinforce procedure compliance and report discrepancies
  • Assist with controlling and reviewing part quality throughout production
  • Notify the Project Lead of Cost of Poor-Quality (COPQ) concerns
  • Support and coach team members through quality-related issues
  • Promote and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Reinforce cleaning procedures and workplace standards
  • Report improper behavior or conduct to Finishing Leads
  • Ensure required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn and address violations
  • Provide input on employee performance evaluations
  • Suggest improvements to operational efficiency
  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies
  • Report safety risks and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent required
  • Must be able to pass required respirator fit testing and remain clean-shaven in areas where a tight-fitting respirator seals to the face, in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Must be able to wear a tight-fitting respirator for the duration of the assigned shift, as required by the position
  • Successfully complete all applicable respiratory protection requirements, including a medical evaluation and respirator fit testing
  • Complete annual fit testing, with additional medical evaluations as required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in composites lamination
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Consistent and reliable attendance record
  • Demonstrates a commitment to fostering a positive and respectful work environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills; collaborates well across teams and departments
  • Adaptable to changing work environments, priorities, and production schedules
  • Able to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute to team success
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond promptly
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and work in various physical conditions
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations
