About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead client relationships providing comprehensive health and welfare support and innovative solutions
  • Develop overall strategy, plan design, reporting, vendor management and selection, pricing, employee contribution settings, and retiree health care solutions
  • Lead health and welfare Workplace Consulting projects
  • Participate in developing and presenting annual strategic recommendations to clients
  • Build extensive knowledge of clients and their businesses and identify opportunities to expand relationships and solve client problems
  • Provide overall accountability for strategic, analytical, and financial deliverables
  • Direct, support, and review health and welfare program renewals and pricing, budgets, IBNP development, and other support
  • Help expand the health and welfare client base through RFPs, finalist meetings, and development of new offerings
  • Lead and mentor health and welfare associates assigned to client teams and the broader practice
  • Promote collaboration and coordinate team efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience working with strategic management of health and welfare plans, preferably gained in a benefit consulting or brokerage firm
  • Understanding of complex business issues and challenges facing clients and demonstrated ability to sell applicable health and welfare consulting services
  • Experience engaging all available resources to address client problems
  • Strong client relationship management skills, including excellent communication and responsiveness
  • Ability to independently develop and facilitate strategy discussions
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated financial results to client stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of the health insurance and benefits industry, practices, applicable laws and regulations, financial issues, point solutions, traditional carrier partner landscape, PBMs, and coalitions
  • Dedication to team collaboration and coordination, including mentoring junior associates and leading teams
  • Ability to manage other associates
