About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Wash and clean vehicles, equipment and machinery under the direction of the Shop Foreman
- Clean machines and shop areas as necessary
- Scrub, scrape, or spray machine parts, equipment, or vehicles using cleaning tools, chemicals, disinfectants, abrasives, vacuums, or hoses
- Mix cleaning solutions, abrasive compositions, or other compounds according to formulas
- Rinse and dry objects and surfaces using drying racks, cloths, squeegees, or an air compressor
- Maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas to ensure safety
- Perform cleanup and maintenance in shop areas
- Maintain recycling equipment
- Assist in mechanical repairs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to work around industrial cleaning chemicals and solvents
- Ability to tolerate variable weather conditions from extreme heat to cold
- Ability to work in a dirty and dusty environment
- Ability to walk and/or stand for an extended time, up to an entire day's shift
- Ability to comprehend, understand and follow policies, procedures and safety requirements
- Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day
- Ability to work varied hours, including overtime as needed
