About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate an excavator and loader on pipe crew projects
- Support pipe layers, operators, and the foreman
- Coordinate materials for installation of sanitary, watermain, and storm pipes and manholes
- Maintain jobsite safety and cleanliness
- Keep materials and workflow organized and efficient
- Move between operating a loader and a backfill excavator
- Clean, maintain, and assist in repairing equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid Driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- A Class A CDL is desired but not necessary prior to hire
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 3+ years experience in Sewer and Water
- Must be able to operate loader and backfill excavator
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, weekends, as needed
- Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments
- Member of a Local Operators Union, or willingness to become a union member are required; union membership may not be required prior to employment
- Successfully pass or has passed the Operators Union aptitude test when required
- Ability to clean, maintain, and assist in repairing equipment
