About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own and deliver BESS projects from site acquisition through ready-to-build, with accountability for timelines, budgets and outcomes
Drive complex BESS projects technically, commercially and strategically
Shape projects through detailed programmes and risk registers
Lead cross-functional teams across grid, permitting, engineering and finance
Own project timelines, budgets and delivery milestones
Lead project governance, internal reviews and decision-making processes
Identify risks and drive mitigation strategies
Identify and evaluate potential BESS project sites, including grid, site constraints, legal framework and permissibility
Coordinate permitting procedures, including environmental approvals, building permits, preliminary building requests and B-Plan procedures
Liaise with landowners, municipalities and authorities
Present projects to investors, partners and decision-makers
Collaborate with engineering, legal and finance teams
Maintain accurate project documentation and audit readiness
Prepare internal memos and project updates for senior management
Build and maintain project programmes and risk registers
Support due diligence for external stakeholders and financiers
Prepare and review lease and cooperation contracts
Drive projects toward ready-to-build and ensure readiness for procurement, financing and construction

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience in project development through the entire lifecycle of a project, ideally in renewables or storage
Strong project management and delivery mindset with proven ownership of complex projects
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decision-making in uncertain environments
Experience managing project timelines, budgets and risk registers
Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and markets in Germany
Independent and structured working style with high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills in German and English
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with multicultural, international teams
Familiarity with construction permits, environmental impact assessments and commissioning required studies
