About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work within the Scottish Welfare Fund team in Financial, Revenues & Wellbeing, Customer & Online Services
- Provide telephone-based customer service to people from varied backgrounds who are struggling with essentials such as food and fuel
- Assess grant applications
- Provide excellent customer care and respond sensitively to people with a variety of needs
- Work Monday–Friday, 8:48–17:00, with some Public Holiday working
- Work from the Bankhead, Glenrothes office, with blended working available after full training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Good communication skills, including written correspondence and telephone interactions
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience prioritising workload and managing time
- Ability to work under pressure
- High level of customer care skills
- Ability to respond sensitively to people with a variety of needs
- Flexible attitude to work and change
- Positive, pro-active approach
- Ability to use multiple IT systems
- Excellent administrative skills
- Supporting Statement required; applications without one will not be progressed
- Ability to work some Public Holidays
