About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the Permanence Resource Team within Family Based Care Teams
- Support permanent Carers, Continuing Carers and Supported Lodgings Carers
- Recruit and assess Adopters and Supported Lodgings Carers
- Re-assess Foster Carers to become permanent Carers
- Provide post-adoption support and counselling
- Deliver preparation and support groups
- Supervise Foster Carers, Continuing Carers, Adopters and Supported Lodgings Carers
- Chair Permanence and Linking meetings
- Lead the Permanence Co-ordination Group
- Provide enhanced/additional support during crises
- Undertake life-story work and Theraplay
- Deliver training
- Manage post box contact
- Work flexibly, including some lone working
- Support improved outcomes for children, young people, carers and families
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educated to SCQF level 9, including a Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Social Work
- Post qualifying award/s essential
- Ability to travel throughout Fife
- Management and leadership experience in statutory Social Work services
- Significant experience and skills in partnership working
- Quality assurance and data analysis experience
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Strong practice knowledge and experience ensuring standards are upheld and delivered
- Significant experience in Child Protection
- Significant experience of improving outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and adults
- High level of competence in performance management
- Must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment is confirmed
- Must apply for SSSC registration within three months and be registered within the required six months
- Must complete any qualification required to maintain SSSC membership within the specified timeframe
- Must provide a Supporting Statement; applications without one will not be progressed
