About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Originate residential mortgage loans, including discussing loan options, taking loan applications, and gathering required documentation and information
- Build and maintain a pipeline of mortgage opportunities while meeting production and service expectations
- Partner with processing, underwriting, closing, and other internal teams throughout the loan process
- Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies
- Maintain knowledge of company products, programs, policies, and industry guidelines
- Ensure compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and the SAFE Act
- Respond to client, partner, and referral source inquiries
- Educate borrowers on mortgage products, lending guidelines, and the loan process
- Review and evaluate financial information to identify appropriate financing solutions
- Establish and maintain relationships with real estate professionals, builders, attorneys, financial professionals, and other referral partners
- Participate in networking events, industry organizations, and community activities
- Attend occasional off-site meetings, events, and industry functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience analyzing information and making sound business decisions
- Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience collaborating in a team-oriented environment
- Active mortgage loan originator license in the state(s) where loans are originated
- SAFE Act compliant
- Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration and company sponsorship where required
- Previous experience in mortgage loan origination, retail lending, or mortgage sales preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining referral relationships with industry partners preferred
- Experience managing an active loan pipeline preferred
- Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA mortgage programs
- Understanding of mortgage lending processes, documentation, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with secondary market guidelines and loan program eligibility requirements
- Understanding of escrow, taxes, insurance, and closing documentation
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
