About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build user-facing applications, backend services, and AI features for FinAgra's agricultural software products
- Develop TypeScript applications with Next.js/React, a hexagonal core, and Postgres
- Use Python for domain logic
- Build AI features including agent pipelines, retrieval over domain corpora, and schema-validated structured generation
- Improve output quality through prompts, evaluations, schema gates, and deterministic alternatives to model calls
- Create greenfield services and applications alongside systems already in production
- Own features end to end: scope, build, deploy, monitor in production, and iterate
- Implement and maintain approval gates, audit trails, and state machines
- Work directly with agronomists and field teams to decide what to build and ship it
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years shipping production web applications
- Strong TypeScript across frontend and backend
- Comfortable picking up Python
- Hands-on LLM integration in real products, including context limits, latency, cost, and non-deterministic output
- Ability to judge when to use a model versus deterministic code
- Comfortable with typed contracts, schema validation, and tests
- Product sense and focus on user needs
- Willingness to work across changing codebases and product areas
- Nice to have: structured generation, evals, or agent frameworks, including Claude Agent SDK
- Nice to have: Postgres schema design or hexagonal/ports-and-adapters architecture
- Nice to have: Vercel, Cloud Run, Docker, and CI experience
- Nice to have: agriculture, commodity trading, or agri-finance domain exposure
- Nice to have: work samples such as repositories, live products, or demos
Benefits
Comp & perks- Genuinely remote; work from wherever you're actually productive
- Schedule that fits your life
- Funded company with runway to build properly
- Ownership and direct access to agronomists and field teams
- Flat structure with no product-manager layer
- AI-native engineering environment with machine-enforced development gates and first-class agent contributors
- Broad exposure across frontend, backend, domain modelling, LLM pipelines, and infrastructure
