About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee a pod of Accounting Managers, bookkeepers, and a book of clients
- Provide support and direction to the team
- Deliver weekly and monthly financial reporting to clients through the team
- Serve as an escalation point and thought partner for clients
- Ensure accuracy of presented data and perform final quality control of deliverables
- Oversee month-end close and key accounting activities
- Review management reports, accounting packages, reconciliations, balance sheet and P&L trends
- Review inventory reconciliation, write-offs, obsolescence adjustments, product costs, and inventory systems
- Review accounts receivable processing and aging reports
- Review accounts payable processing, aging reports, and Bill.com payments
- Review payroll processing, journal entries, and accruals
- Provide ad hoc reports and details
- Oversee client communications
- Supervise and train the team on client and administrative duties
- Help develop SOPs and training documents
- Manage the pod budget
- Maintain clean files and document storage
- Participate in assigned training
- Contribute to the internal team as a thought partner
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting
- 2+ years of experience in a multi-client or consulting role
- 2+ years of experience leading a team
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Advanced level expertise in QBO and Excel
- NetSuite and Xero experience a huge advantage
- Experience with e-commerce clients is required
- Experience reconciling Shopify, PayPal, Bill.com, etc. required
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
- Solid understanding of financial statements and how to evaluate them
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time in a remote work environment
- Proactive and team-centric attitude
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Located in the United States
