About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate, reproduce, and fix defects reported in Java 11+ and Spring Boot systems in production
  • Perform root-cause analysis before applying fixes
  • Ensure fixes are covered by regression tests
  • Participate in war rooms during critical incidents
  • Triage incident severity and prioritize investigations
  • Communicate incident status through clear, objective, and predictable updates
  • Escalate issues internally when they require a different level of expertise or decision-making
  • Communicate impact, timelines, and status to clients
  • Set realistic expectations during high-pressure situations
  • Identify when to reassure the client and when to escalate internally
  • Maintain regression test coverage for resolved bugs
  • Update troubleshooting documentation and runbooks
  • Identify recurring patterns in support requests and propose permanent fixes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Previous experience with N2/N3 support, application maintenance, or assisted operations
  • Ability to debug production systems, including log analysis, APM, and queries
  • SQL for data investigation, in addition to ORM usage
  • Experience with automated testing, including regression testing
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including under pressure and in direct client interactions
  • Understanding of SLAs and incident severity classification
  • Familiarity with DevOps culture and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Kibana, New Relic, or similar tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture and systems architecture is a plus
  • Experience in fintech, financial products, or digital financial journeys is a plus
  • Previous experience with on-call rotations or application-support rotations is a plus
  • Experience working directly with external clients is a plus
