About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the Operations data model covering reconciliation, treasury, payments, lifecycle, and onboarding
- Turn raw operational events into documented, trustworthy data products on the DWH
- Partner with Operations stakeholders on day-to-day questions, ad hoc requests, and recurring reporting
- Serve as the primary data point of contact for Operations
- Promote self-service for routine, repeatable questions
- Analyze end-to-end processes to identify manual effort and fragile handoffs
- Identify tools and automation that solve operational problems
- Define and maintain metrics for reconciliation accuracy, treasury positions, payment success/failure rates, and onboarding conversion
- Work within the central metric architecture
- Participate in data quality and governance practices
- Propose and implement process and product improvements
- Learn the Operations domain and deliver an initial fix or data product
- Own at least one Operations sub-domain's metrics end to end
- Contribute to shared Risk/TRI discussions
- Establish independent ownership of data and workflows
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience as an analytics engineer or senior analyst on technical data projects
- Experience with data modeling on a modern data platform such as Databricks, Spark, or dbt
- Excellent SQL skills for analytical work
- Ability to use Python for tasks SQL does not cover well
- Ability to gather requirements from operational stakeholders and turn ambiguous asks into clean, documented metrics
- Precision-oriented approach, especially for regulatory and financial reporting data
- Ability to reconcile differing stakeholder definitions of the same metric
- Ability to understand operational processes and identify effective tools or automation
- High autonomy and self-direction
- Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and tools
- Background in banking, fintech, treasury, or payments operations preferred
- Experience across multiple stakeholder groups preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory or financial reporting data requirements preferred
- Occasional BI-layer reporting exposure preferred
