About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement and support cloud infrastructure capabilities across AWS environments
  • Partner with Architecture, Security, IAM, Platform Engineering, and application teams to implement cloud solutions
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and release deployment issues
  • Automate operational processes and ensure adherence to enterprise standards
  • Lead or co-lead internal project and program-level process improvement initiatives
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on processes
  • Informally mentor junior staff
  • Assist with adherence to technology policies and security controls
  • Ensure work products meet or exceed FINRA standards
  • Demonstrate FINRA’s values
  • Collaborate in person and virtually in support of FINRA’s investor protection and market integrity mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience
  • Experience with release engineering activities in a formal Software Configuration / Release Management environment
  • Experience managing software configurations and releases
  • Experience using an application release automation product and ticketing system software
  • Experience managing complex releases in a 24x7 production environment
  • Strong knowledge of change, problem/incident, and delivery management
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, development languages, products, and networking
  • Experience supporting AWS cloud enablement and operational activities
  • Experience with Python scripting and developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation, data processing, and cloud operations workflows
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and improve work-product quality
  • Well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities
  • Ability to learn new skills rapidly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to comply with technology policies, security controls, and FINRA standards
  • Ability to perform occasional travel, extended hours, weekend, and rotational on-call duties
