About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deploy software into production environments
- Ensure configuration management deliverables are transitioned to the appropriate production operations team
- Act as gatekeeper for new in-house application release implementations and change management before production entry
- Participate in release deployment calls
- Interface with team members and other teams in peer review of software configuration management standards and methods
- Document and communicate release results in a timely manner
- Champion collaborative defect resolution and drive issues to closure
- Lead or co-lead internal project/program-level process improvement initiatives
- Provide feedback and suggestions on processes
- Informally mentor junior staff
- Assist with adherence to technology policies and security controls
- Collaborate in person and virtually in furtherance of FINRA’s investor protection and market integrity mission
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least three (3) years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience
- Experience with release engineering activities in a formal Software Configuration/Release Management environment
- Experience managing software configurations and releases
- Experience utilizing an application release automation product
- Experience using ticketing system software
- Experience managing complex releases in a 24x7 production environment
- Strong knowledge of change, problem/incident, and delivery management
- Working knowledge of operating systems, development languages and products, and networking
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships that improve work-product quality
- Well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities
- Ability to maintain focus and rapidly develop proficiency in new skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Occasional travel and extended hours may be required
- Weekend and rotational on-call duties may be required
- Ability to comply with FINRA’s technology policies and security controls
- Ability to meet or exceed FINRA standards
