About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support youth events, surveys, focus groups, and outreach activities
  • Gather feedback from youth and help bring their ideas forward
  • Build connections with youth across Northwestern Ontario
  • Participate in projects, committees, and improvement initiatives
  • Help create welcoming and inclusive spaces where youth can share their perspectives
  • Support Youth Advisory Councils and youth leadership opportunities
  • Represent FIREFLY at community and youth engagement events
  • Work alongside youth, staff, leadership, and community partners to create opportunities for youth involvement and leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently attending high school, college, university, trades training, or another post-secondary program
  • Passionate about youth engagement, leadership, advocacy, or community involvement
  • Enjoy connecting with and supporting other young people
  • Want to help improve programs and services for youth
  • Youth Engagement Lead applicants must be 18–25 years old and have previous leadership, volunteer, advisory, or community involvement experience
  • Youth Engagement Assistant applicants must be 16–25 years old and have an interest in leadership, youth engagement, or community involvement
  • Availability within the FIREFLY service region during summer break for in-person youth engagement activities
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability depending on events and engagement activities
