About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Compliance Advisory Manager and wider Group Companies with compliance
- Provide advice, guidance and constructive challenge on compliance and conduct matters
- Maintain the regulatory papers log
- Produce reports and regulatory summaries
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning for emerging risks, rules and guidance
- Act as a trusted business partner to key stakeholders
- Provide timely and accurate Compliance sign-off, including for financial promotions and customer journeys
- Support regulatory guidance within the incident management process
- Assist allocated project teams in identifying and recording compliance considerations from inception to delivery
- Advise the business on the practical application of policies and business standards
- Assist with administration of regulatory documentation, reporting and submissions
- Assist in implementing the Group compliance culture
- Comply with the Group Code of Conduct, Fitness and Propriety policies, SMCR Conduct Rules and other relevant standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Good grasp of compliance, risk and conduct current and emerging agenda within the jurisdictions that First Central operate
- Proven track record in delivering advice and sign off to quality, quantity time and cost restraints
- Substantial understanding of financial services and the General Insurance market and its standards
- Credible practitioner with a proven track record of success, ideally in compliance and conduct role
- Recognised compliance, audit or legal qualification desirable
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn new disciplines quickly, including the regulatory agenda
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good time management and organisation skills
- Able to communicate knowledge and expertise simply
- Influencing and negotiation skills with key stakeholders
- Ability to deliver difficult messages when needed and articulate advice and consequences clearly and concisely
- Good presentation skills
- Problem solving skills with the ability to adopt a logical approach
- Ability to build strong and trusted relationships
- Competent use of IT and software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Flexible approach and positive attitude
