About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the development and support of infrastructure for the Bank's database technologies
Serve as a technical lead for project planning and management, problem resolution, and hardware or software support
Present reliable, adaptable, and cost-effective technical alternatives and solutions to management
Lead technical teams on assigned projects and collaborate across the organization
Implement, upgrade, and test technical systems that support the Bank's applications
Provide consultative guidance to associates, management, and business units across multiple technologies
Assign and review work for other database administrators when providing team leadership
Architect and implement data masking and virtualization solutions for development, testing, and QA environments
Design masking algorithms, rulesets, and policies for PII, PHI, PCI, and other regulated data
Configure and manage Delphix environments across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, Netezza, VSAM, and file masking platforms
Integrate masking and data provisioning into CI/CD pipelines
Conduct risk assessments of non-production environments and drive remediation
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize masking performance, data consistency, and operational reliability
Understand and implement dynamic data masking for production environments
Work with application owners, developers, DBAs, infrastructure teams, and testers to understand workflows and data usage
Educate teams on TLS and data masking technologies, limitations, tradeoffs, and best practices
Advise on onboarding new applications, platforms, and integrations
Develop and improve documentation, runbooks, standards, and technical guidance
Support audits and regulatory inquiries with evidence of implementation and control effectiveness
Automate monitoring, testing, and validation of encryption and masking controls
Track emerging data protection threats, technologies, and industry practices and recommend enhancements
Mentor junior engineers and operational teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Database Technologies OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Database Technologies
Strong expertise in TLS, HTTPS, certificates, PKI, and encryption protocols
Hands-on experience with Delphix data masking and virtualization
Deep understanding of relational databases and data classification/masking strategies
Understanding of dynamic data masking
Knowledge of cloud environments and Delphix deployment in Azure or AWS
Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines
Proficiency with scripting/automation, including Python, PowerShell, and SQL
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR
Familiarity with ServiceNow and Jira service requests
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical and semi-technical audiences
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence without authority
Collaborative experience across application, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams
Risk-based thinking and ability to balance security requirements with business needs
Excellent documentation, presentation, and knowledge-sharing skills
Mentorship and leadership capabilities within technical teams
