About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build pages of the Online Banking application
Provide technical guidance and estimate effort
Decide on optimal technology solutions for business needs
Provide day-to-day application support
Develop code and oversee distributed development team members
Join a pod of developers and automation engineers supported by a product manager and scrum master
Collaborate with Product and business owners and other Online Banking pods
Design systems and perform hands-on implementation
Gain hands-on knowledge of the client-facing web application, microservices, data architecture, databases, and supporting systems
Become a subject matter expert and deliver frameworks or standards
Estimate large features and releases
Break down feature sets, lead implementation and releases, and train team members
Drive technical designs to Architecture Review Team consensus and approval
Design and develop reusable enterprise solutions, frameworks, interfaces and services
Perform impact analysis of proposed changes
Evaluate solution options, trade-offs, and cost/benefit implications
Conduct group training sessions or lunch and learns
Refresh and document processes
Identify refactoring and technical debt remediation opportunities
Guard code quality and mentor junior engineers
Participate in architecture and design discussions and large-scale feature planning
Participate in code reviews and pursue continuous learning

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
8+ years of Front End/UI focused Software Engineer experience
Solid experience with React 16+, Redux, Mobx Store Management, Node.js, Typescript, ES6, CSS3, CSS Preprocessors, Grid Layout Knowledge, Jest Test
Practical experience with Agile/Iterative delivery methodologies
Ability to influence architecture and design
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues
Experience with TDD and CICD delivery
Experience with distributed systems and Micro-services architecture
Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, web applications, and transactional databases
Experience with enterprise integration services/solutions and exposure to API gateways
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Docker and Jenkins
Bonus points for experience with regulated financial organizations
