About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and summarize business performance data
  • Improve the usability of management reports
  • Identify best-practice trends
  • Participate in projects with Rail groups including Business Intelligence, Mechanical/Maintenance, Structured Finance, Business Process Implementation, Customer Service, and Risk
  • Contribute to research, analytics, strategy, process review and improvement, and technology enhancements and support
  • Complete an assigned project to improve a process or solve a problem
  • Present the assigned project at the close of the internship
  • Prepare and deliver a wrap-up presentation to the division leader and key company stakeholders
  • Work across the Rail organization to build skills through tangible experiences in equipment finance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the summer program
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the program
  • Preferred: Current Junior (May 2028 graduation) pursuing a BA/BS/BBA degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting, and/or Data Analytics
  • Preferred: Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Preferred: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
  • Preferred: Experience and/or interest in analytical tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Tableau
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needs
