About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop commercial banking business for companies up to $60 million in revenue
  • Acquire new commercial banking business using effective calling techniques
  • Build and maintain relationships with accountants, attorneys, community leaders, and professional/social organizations
  • Attend networking, charity, and corporate functions for prospecting and relationship building
  • Update supervisors on pending banking business, metrics, portfolio status, and underwriting status
  • Manage commercial portfolios and coordinate with clients on accounts and relationship issues
  • Facilitate credit applications, perform site visits, obtain underwriting decisions, and conduct annual portfolio reviews
  • Identify, evaluate, structure, and document commercial credit transactions
  • Monitor credit quality and take appropriate action
  • Resolve client service issues and cross-sell bank products
  • Handle high-level executive account and loan requests
  • Represent the bank in civic and community functions
  • Attend training to improve sales, presentation, commercial, SBA, treasury management, and banking knowledge
  • Manage service providers and vendors as directed
  • Comply with banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, anti-money laundering statutes, and consumer protection regulations
  • Level 2: Mentor credit analysts, portfolio managers, and less experienced loan officers
  • Level 3: Manage the largest and most complex client portfolios, mentor team members, advise colleagues, support relationship building, and assist with training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Level 1: 1-4 years of commercial lending/sales experience
  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting progressive plan goals, portfolio management, and effective cross-departmental collaboration
  • Understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business, or another related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
  • Completed, actively pursuing, or willing to begin progressive OBL/ABA certification courses related to the position
  • Level 1: EasyLender, Cleartouch, OnBase, CreditQuest, government and investor software/web portals, and CRM software preferred
  • Experience in financial services or banking preferred
  • Level 2: 4-7 years of commercial lending/sales experience
  • Level 2: Thorough understanding of commercial lending laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Level 3: 7-10 years of commercial lending/sales experience
  • Physical ability to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear, and speak
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
