About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides classroom and/or behind-the-wheel training to new operators or re-training of current operators
  • Provides training and coaching to location personnel
  • Tracks attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy
  • Supports safety initiatives including accident investigations, compliance documentation, safety meetings, and ongoing operator development
  • Trains employees and educates them about safety and compliance regulations while supporting multiple locations throughout the assigned service area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • This role requires approximately 60% travel across approximately 30 locations
  • Must possess current school bus credentials required to provide school bus driver training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of transportation, safety, or related experience within the school bus industry
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while adapting quickly to changing situations
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a reliable vehicle to travel throughout the service area as needed
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical
  • English proficiency required
  • ODE Behind-the-Wheel Trainer certification preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience training school bus drivers preferred
