About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate, set up, adjust, program, and troubleshoot CNC machines and tooling
- Adhere to Fisher Barton safety, quality, and business-code-of-ethics procedures
- Gauge parts and read blueprints
- Recognize when an insert/product goes out of tolerance, stop the process, and change inserts
- Follow check sheets and use measurement instruments to verify parts meet customer specifications
- Machine parts to print
- Load feed mechanisms and change inserts when necessary
- Cross-train team members on CNC machine operations
- Perform preventive maintenance and follow manufacturer operating instructions
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as needed
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the work area
- Collect and transport recyclable chips and shavings to the reclaiming area
- Maintain required documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–2 years of previous CNC Operator experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton CNC Operator Level 1
- Able to use measurement instruments such as caliper, height gage, and micrometer
- Basic Math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand 8–12 hours a day
- Ability to sit, stand, squat, and bend
- Ability to reach overhead with one or both arms
- Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- 2+ years of CNC experience (preferred)
- Experience with troubleshooting machines (preferred)
- Experience using special micrometers and gauges (preferred)
