About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up and operate blanking presses according to production specifications and work orders
  • Load raw materials, including metal sheets, coils, or plates, into the press
  • Monitor press operation to ensure proper cutting and shaping of metal parts
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and dies to maintain product quality
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and report mechanical issues to maintenance personnel
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quantities, scrap, and downtime
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Remove finished parts and scrap materials safely from the work area
  • Collaborate with supervisors and quality teams to improve processes and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed during the busy season November – April (approximately 2 days per month)
  • Preferred: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Experience working as a press operator
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Experience working with manufacturing quality checks and tools using a dial caliper and a height gauge
  • Experience working from drawings and samples
  • Knowledge of metal stampings industry
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to wear appropriate, required PPE
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Openness to learning
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
