About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the budget process, update budget versus actuals, meet with budget owners, and keep operating expenses at or under budget
Reconcile Amazon and Shopify revenue against SAP and payouts at high volume
Run price audits, set prices on new SKUs, and maintain accurate price lists
Analyze Amazon pricing, fees, and costs to improve margins
Monitor gross margin trends and flag risks
Complete month-end tasks and support the Controller on month- and year-end packages
Deliver reliable monthly sales reporting
Prepare monthly HST returns and support the annual audit
Own month-end inventory with Operations, process warehouse counts, post SAP adjustments, and explain variances
Provide Operations with a finance perspective on sales forecasting
Support inventory management, supply chain data, returns, and ad-hoc problem solving
Track KPIs and identify cost-saving opportunities
Simplify and automate processes, delivering at least one new or improved process every quarter
Build financial models, cost-benefit analyses, and forecasts for cross-functional projects
Help the business get more value from SAP
Analyze business performance and recommend improvements
Report to the Financial Controller

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role, such as Finance Associate or Trade Analyst
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business / Commerce
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience building clean, auditable models and reconciliations
Experience with month end close under firm deadlines and high volumes of data
Experience improving or automating financial processes
Experience working in an ERP; SAP is a plus, with NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar accepted
Experience in a CPG, e-commerce or inventory-heavy business
Amazon or Shopify reconciliations and pricing experience are a big plus
Working knowledge of financial statements, Power BI, or a CPA is a bonus, or willingness to work toward a CPA
Ability to explain numbers clearly to people who don’t live in spreadsheets
Self-starter able to work independently in a fast-growing, lean team
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Intermediate Shopify and Amazon Seller Central reporting
Developing Power BI knowledge
